2000
Grupo Camesa faced important challenges in 2000, both in the domestic and international markets. Price and volume increases in our products related to gas and oil extraction, steel production, and telecommunications.
The PVC and caustic soda segments suffered decreases. This was mainly the effect of an electoral year both in Mexico and in the United States , translating into less consumption of vinyl-derived products, as well as higher energy costs.
The organization focused on increasing efficiency and establishing its image of quality and service. The key was to strengthen the portfolio with greater added value products and reduce the dependency on those with low margins and unfair competition.
