| The company has redefined its business vision by substituting the concept of Divisions with Production Chains, compatible with Management’s Strategic Mission, which seeks the following goals, among others:
To be recognized by its clients as the best supplier option.
Mexichem’s goal is to become the market leader of the Chemical Sector via its trade policy of competitive prices and costs, together with an adequate offer of quality in each of the products it markets; we aim to meet logistic costs in each of our processes of production, distribution and contact with the end consumer, in addition to sustaining the quality and performance of each of our products.
Contribute to its consumers’ success.
Within its business vision, Mexichem’s Management, focused on customer service, has upheld the criterion that a competitive product is not only one which meets quality and price standards, but one that, in addition, allows the end user to employ it as a raw material or intermediate product; thus, clients can get the expected profitability out of their cost-benefit process.
To be internationally competitive.
In an environment marked by the globalization of business and industrial processes, Mexichem designed its Production Chains taking into account not only the needs of a domestic market, but especially of foreign markets; a large part of its products and sales in the chemical sector are designed for foreign markets located mainly in the countries within the North American Free Trade Agreement. This commercial emphasis has forced Mexichem to keep a close watch on its price and quality policies in order to compete efficiently and with an attractive margin with producers located in these export markets.
To remain vertically integrated in its main lines of business and Production Chains.
As of 2004, Mexichem’s management, following the advice of its Board of Directors, changed the Mission and strategic Vision from a Division format to a Vertical Integration one, comprised by Production Chains; this new format makes it possible to assign costs, benefits, risks, depreciations, and other non-financial and non-recurring expenses, to each commercial entity within the Production Chains. The format of these chains essentially prevents a generalization of processes, which are basically specialized, as in the case of the Vinyl-Chlorine Chain and the Fluorine Chain. Mexichem is in a constant process of integrating business opportunities in the Chemical Sector, either by acquisition of new businesses which complement the existing ones, or through the development of new business units or technologies to complement these processes and enhance their efficiency.
To have motivated, qualified personnel, focused on the customer
Mexichem’s management believes that the business policy which has proven its efficiency for the Group does not only require competitive production standards, but also an industrial relations and human factor policy which aims towards the continual training of its workers and towards timely and quality customer service.
To be recognized for its social responsibility, with special emphasis on safety, health, and respect for the environment.
Last, in addition to the business, investment, and training policies mentioned above, the Production Chain’s process requires a profound feeling and conviction of complying with environmental regulations to which the various factors in each of the Production Chain’s processes are subject; the overall chemical industry -and Mexichem in particular- carries out its industrial activities in plants requiring proper certification, verification, and auditing in environmental issues on a day-to-day basis. Mexichem’s Management believes this responsibility to be not only compliance with legal conditions, but with industrial security above all, in the interests of its workers and also, of the environment in general, and its preservation in the interests of society as a whole.
